Paul A. Williams Paul Alan Williams died suddenly and unexpectedly in Lafayette on Wednesday September 17, 2008. Paul was employed for the last five years as Manager of Human Relations with long time local survey firm Fugro Chance Inc. Paul had worked previously in the area with local firms Delmar Systems Inc and Aggreko, LLC before joining Chance. Paul was a long time member of the local Acadiana Society for HR Managers and served at one time as its President. Paul was born in Galveston, Texas on June 16, 1954 to Howard Kenneth and Clella Elizabeth (Beth) Williams who are both since deceased. Paul went to high school in Tomball, Texas and earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Houston in 1976. Paul was an avid golfer, loved high powered sports cars and loved working with people. Paul leaves behind a daughter Sarah, a son Stephen, two sisters Karen Williams and Joyce Burge, all of Texas and one brother, Mack Williams of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Paul was very good at his job and is credited with much of Fugro Chance’s success in recent years in recruiting and retaining high quality employees. He will be sorely missed by his family by those who worked with him and by those whom he mentored. Graveside services will be conducted for Paul at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery, Houston, Texas at 10 AM on Wednesday 24 September, 2008. A memorial service celebrating his life is currently being planned and will be held in Lafayette at a time a venue to be announced at a later date.
